Our mission is to engage stakeholders in collaboration to assess needs, develop resources, improve outcomes, and educate the public about behavioral healthcare issues (defined as mental health and substance use) in Collin County. Our efforts and our vision are aligned with developing a behavioral healthcare system that is exceptionally responsive, compassionate, and well-resourced for all.

The Coalition for Behavioral Healthcare in Collin County (CBHCC) is committed to pursuing four critical priorities to improve behavioral health in Collin County:

  1. Create a profile and status report of behavioral health indicators and services in Collin County. Establishing a baseline of the existing system, populations, stakeholders, and resources, will help us examine trends, inform planning and decision making, and inspire collaborations.
  2. Provide a forum for open sharing and discussion across all Collin Country school districts to identify challenges and share best practices, strategies, and methods for improving mental health and substance use outcomes.
  3. Encourage and facilitate collaboration and cooperation among Collin County’s crisis system stakeholders (hospitals, law enforcement, mental health providers, schools, courts, county administration, and citizens) to identify and address gaps, needs, and policy conflicts to promote a more effective and efficient county-wide crisis system for adults and youth. We believe that the process of understanding current practices will inspire the adoption of a crisis management model tailored for Collin County’s unique needs.
  4. Utilize social media, digital platforms, public presentations, and other means to communicate facts and information about mental health and substance use to members, parents, professionals, business and institutional leaders, and the general public. Our goal is to facilitate greater access to successful treatment by improving understanding and removing stigma surrounding behavioral health issues.
